    1. Both Bora Bora and Maldives thrive on tourism so both of them have really nice resorts. The over water bungalows are part of the resort that you can stay in

Nugget & Unorthodox Places

I may not exactly want to visit all these places, but their  uniqueness and weirdness deserves them a right to be blogged about by the Travel Nugget. They're definitely places to go to if you're seeking an adventure. GRUNER SEE, AUSTRIA Gruner See or "Green Lake" is a lake found in the village of Styria, Austria. The name originated from the beautiful emerald green colour of the water. However, the pretty colour isn't the main reason why I'm interested in this spot. During the winter, the lake is merely 3 to 7 feet deep and people enjoy the surrounding county park facilities. However, as Spring approaches and the temperature rises, the snow melts away and the water is collected in this emerald basin transforming it into a beautiful version of a snapshot from the 1995 movie, Waterworld. The water level rises to a maximum depth of 39 feet which swallows the park and many scuba divers explore this water-world. Venturing under these waters, the theme song ...

Nugget & The Glaciers

This post makes me think  of the Ice Age movies. I keep feeling like I should see Manny slowly walking along and Sid and Deigo fighting somewhere in these pictures. Then the little squirrel thing, I don't know his name, will try to hide his little acorn somewhere in the glacier, which will of course cause some avalanche almost killing everything in its path. HUBBARD GLACIER, ALASKA Hubbard Glacier is located in eastern Alaska and spreads for 122km and goes 1,200ft deep. The glacier is quickly advancing toward the Gulf of Alaska which results in breaking off the large chunks of ice at its edges. There's something terrifying about imagining being on a cruise ship, being surrounded by empty seas, while being confronted with a mass of ice, rumbling as pieces crash into the freezing waters below...but not terrifying enough to take it off my to-travel list. PERITO MORENO GLACIER, ARGENTINA The Perito Moreno Glacier  is located  in the Southwestern Province of S...

Nugget & The New Seven World Wonders

The year 2000 marked the beginning of the project New7Wonders , which concept was rather simple; to beckon the people of the world to vote for the new man-made seven wonders of the world. The campaign was   committed to deepening Global Memory legacy and to help document and conserve global heritage; similar to that of the  UNESCO World Heritage Centre .  TAJ MAHAL, INDIA My love for architecture was first expressed in my earlier article titled  "Nugget & The Cathedrals" , but this structure is so unbelievably magnificent. The crown jewel of India , the world's most iconic tribute to love - the Taj Mahal. The exquisite marble mausoleum was commissioned by Shah Jahan, in 1631 in honour of his wife , Mumtaz Mahal, who died soon after the birth of her fourteenth child (14....children...). She was portrayed to be the perfect wife and companion and the King grieved for two years after her passing. Inspired by  Mughal...

Nugget & The Surreal Lakes

When you think of a lake, you might just think of a still mass of water, possibly laden with crocodiles and other unfriendly creatures but these lakes are so phenomenal. They're amazing for bathing, sightseeing, diving, playing or just to go to for a moment to appreciate the beauty of this world that we sometimes too often take for granted. DEAD SEA, ISRAEL Who ever thought the something called the Dead Sea could be so breathtakingly beautiful. The Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth , but the most remarkable thing about it is that it is impossible to sink when floating because the salt density is so high, almost ten times saltier than the ocean. The water is also believed to have healing properties for skin issues.  However, due to this hypersalination , no fish can survive in the water which removes the fear of creatures touching my toes while I'm in the water. Ironically, people have drowned in the Dead Sea because they disobey the one rule of floating there, on...
