Nugget & Europe

My top places to visit in Europe - Greece, France, Italy and Switzerland.
SANTORINI
Before I begin, please watch the video below. There's just something magical about it; the way it captures the beauty of Santorini that makes my words fail. If You're already not in love with Santorini, I guarantee that video will make you. I was hoping to find a video that captures my love for Santorini, and it does it so amazingly; the combination of the music with the scences are beyond perfection.

This place has my heart and I've never even been there. Maybe it's Oia with it's cascading whitewashed buildings carved into the cliffs, the hues of sapphire water, the gleaming houses or the phenomenal, yet calming, scenry. It seems like a place your soul can go to rest and one day, I'll get there.

THE FRENCH RIVIERA
Côte d'Azur, also know as The French Riviera; where do I want to go?
First stop, Le Vieux Nice; a small town with adorable narrow streets, with beautiful churches, vibrant squares, so many little shops and restaurants. Then to Cours Saleya Flower Market where hopefully, I'll be with someone who buys me a pretty bunch and HOPEFULLY MY SOMEONE IS READING THIS (subtle hints). Follow him on IG for really nice pictures. Then to La Croisette Boulevard where I'll lust after pretty things in the designer shops before visiting the beautiful sandy beaches and lounge on a beach chair. Nearing evening, I'll enjoy a seaside walk on the  Promenade des Anglais, a gorgeous pedestrian stretch that lines the curve of the Baie des Anges beaches.

ITALY
I think Italy is at the top of most people's travel wish-list. I need to go to Milan to see Duomo Di Milano (see Nuggets & the Cathedrals); Vatican City to see the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica (see Nuggets & the Cathedrals); Venice for the Gondolas; Florence to walk around Piazza del Duomo and Rome to see the Trevi Fountain to Colosseum to everywhere else. Those are just to name a few...clearly, I might need to stay a couple months there to visit all the cities and see all the sites I need to see. and the food, I'm going to be a chubby Nugget. My friend Sammy and I are pasta addicts. Go like her page @ Sammy Cakes, she makes these amazing cakes.

ZURICH
Do you know that the Swiss consume the more amount of chocolate in the world? I'm so going to become an extra-large nugget when I visit there. I can just imagine myself, enjoying the views of Lake Zürich, eating a barrel of chocolate...
My favourite thing about Zürich is definitely the architecture; the combination of traditional styles with modern trends is so amazing.
Confession - I never understood what the "I'm Switzerland" meant until recently. Apparently it means you're neutral in a given situation because they're always neutral in war. Moving on...

A weird fact about Switzerland, they have a Puppy Tax! You have to pay tax for owning a dog! Maybe it's a good thing...but still, I'd have to pay tax for my Simba. Yes, I'm a puppy person and that's baby Simba there. Read more interesting facts here - 35 Interesting Facts About Switzerland

Nugget & The Beaches

If I asked you to picture the perfect beach , most of you might paint a scenery of a strip of white soft sand dotted with lush palm trees, crystal clear blue waters with gently rolling waves, all framed by a beautiful landscape. These bucket list beaches offer something a little bit different. PINK SAND BEACH, HARBOUR ISLAND No soft white strip of sand here, but Pink Sand Beach of Harbour Island, Bahamas , is the place to go to for natural beauty of pink sands and calm blue waters which extends for 3 miles . The waters are ideal for swimming and relaxing as the harsh waves are blocked by the surrounding coral reefs . The sand itself consists of broken corals, shells, rocks and calcium carbonate but it's pink colour comes from shell colour of microscopic shelled animals . Although it isn't the only pink beach in the world, it is definitely one of the most beautiful , perfect location for a vacation. Click here for info on more pink beaches . Nugget & The Caves

I never thought that I'd be interested in going into caves. I think batman scarred me growing up and made me think caves are just dark holes, infested with bats but I was so wrong. Here are some of the most amazing caves around the world, each carrying unique features. ICE CAVE, KAMCHATKA Does the pictures of this ice cave below remind anyone else of cotton candy or the passage to a fairytale world ? Yes, I'm sure it does. This magical cave is located in  Kamchatsky, Russia  where the entire landscape is constantly changing due to active  volcanoes  and  glaciers . The location is described as being alive and having  a beating heart .  This  ice jewel  was carved by a volcano-fed river which is sourced from a hot spring from the  Mutnovsky volcano  which flows through the glacier. Its cotton candy  colours  are a result of the  refraction of sunlight t streaming through the ice walls. Photo credit:...

Nugget & The Blue Holes

Looking for an underwater adventure? Blue holes are usually found in shallow coastal areas and the darker the shade of blue, the deeper it goes. The Travel Nugget won't venture into these depths for 2 reasons. Firstly, diving in these places has a prerequisite of logging over 25 dives so an extreme amateur, like the Travel Nugget, can't. Secondly, the mystery of the creatures that lurk in dark, deep waters scare me. GREAT BLUE HOLE, BELIZE The Great Blue Hole of Belize is the most popular blue hole and I have no idea what its appearance reminds me of. It measures over 300 meters across and 124 meters deep. The blue hole rests in the middle of Lighthouse Reef where an island of corals encircles the shallow area, giving it a beautiful turquoise colour. Many visit by boat and aerial tours while the more adventurous opt for skydiving into the waters. I imagine myself screaming at the top of my voice until I touch the water if I ever attempt that one but maybe, just maybe, ...

Nugget & The Mountains

As a child,  when you were taught to draw a mountain, it was always some form of an inverted triangle with a rounded top. Drawing a flat-top mountain or multiple pillars would definitely be considered incorrect in art class. However, these mountains prove otherwise. CAPPADOCIA, ANCIENT REGION OF ANATOLIA Cappadocia is a historical region which lies in the plateau of central Anatolia, Turkey. It's most amazing feature is the unique chimney fairy rocks which were formed by volcanic eruptions and erosion which shaped the pillars. Humans burrowed into these chimneys and made it their own, building underground cities which I’d like to venture into, just for curiosity's sake. Although I’m fascinated by these structures, I don’t want to see them from standing on the ground. I’ve never been hot air ballooning and the thought of floating in the air always seems scary, but with the amazing view of the Cappadocia landscape, I’ll be willing too.   UNESCO World Heritage Site ...
