Nugget & The Waterfalls

Waterfalls are some of the most spectacular tourist attractions which should be included on everyone's bucket list. Putting together this list felt near impossible as each waterfall has its own unique features and there's so many around the world, but here are some of the top waterfalls around the world.
PLITVICE LAKES NATIONAL PARK, CROTIA
Plitvice Lakes National Park is Crotia's most popular tourist attraction and I completely understand why. Unlike the other waterfalls featured, Plitvice is made up of sixteen inter-connected crystalline lakes where terrains cascades into each other via beautiful waterfalls. The emerald and turquoise  have been compared to lakes in JuiZhaiGou Valley from Nuggets & The Lakes. What I love about this destination is that the falls are not only popular during the summer, but during the winter as the lush green forests transforms into the most beautiful winter wonderland.

HAVASU FALLS, ARIZONA
Havasu falls is the most spectacular waterfall in the Grand Canyon. The surrounding red rocks and mountains makes the flow of the bright turquoise water so much more beautiful. The waters plunges over 100 feet into the pool and spills into numerous secondary pools and small dams. This amazing tourist destination is only accessible via hiking in the blistering Arizonian sun, but I've read that these falls make the trip worth it and I really hope that's true.

VICTORIA FALLS, ZAMBIA
Found between Zambia and Zimbabwe,Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world creating a view too majestic for words. The combination of its width of 1708m and height of 108m classifies it as the largest sheet of falling water in the world. One of its most amazing feature is the Devil's Pool. During the dry season, the river dries significantly and visitors walk along the edge of the falls to bathe in the ultimate infinity pool. I don't know if my heart will allow me to enjoy a bath on a cliff of death. Take a look at the video below for a 360 degree experience of Victoria Falls.

BIGAR WATERFALL, ROMANIA
Now I don't know why, but this waterfall looks like it's a home to tiny fairies like Tinkerbell, or maybe I just watch to much tv or have an overactive imagination. It just seems a bit magical the way the water flows from a green mossy carpet forming a water veil as countless tiny streams run alongside the body. Bigar waterfall is situated in the territory of Bozovici, Romania. The fat, rounded, apex shape has made it one of the world's most unusually shaped waterfall and is Romania's most popular waterfall.

PONGOUR FALLS, VIETNAM
Pongour Falls is one of the most popular falls in the province and a popular tourist spot. This stunning terraced waterfall is about 40 meters high and 100 meters wide. Water cascades the natural staircases which allows visitors to walk through the falls but if I try to walk...I will fall. The beautiful and poetic scenery has made it a preferred location of locals for romantic meeting and picnics.

These falls are all too uniquely beautiful to pick my favourite. I love the appearance of Plitvice, the contrast of colours of Havasu is so beautiful, Victoria is beyond majestic, Bigor is magical and Pongour...will tempt me to walk on it and I will fall...But I love them all. Comment below and share some waterfalls around the world which has made it to your bucket list!

Nugget & The Surreal Lakes

When you think of a lake, you might just think of a still mass of water, possibly laden with crocodiles and other unfriendly creatures but these lakes are so phenomenal. They're amazing for bathing, sightseeing, diving, playing or just to go to for a moment to appreciate the beauty of this world that we sometimes too often take for granted. DEAD SEA, ISRAEL Who ever thought the something called the Dead Sea could be so breathtakingly beautiful. The Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth , but the most remarkable thing about it is that it is impossible to sink when floating because the salt density is so high, almost ten times saltier than the ocean. The water is also believed to have healing properties for skin issues.  However, due to this hypersalination , no fish can survive in the water which removes the fear of creatures touching my toes while I'm in the water. Ironically, people have drowned in the Dead Sea because they disobey the one rule of floating there, on...

Nugget & The New Seven World Wonders

The year 2000 marked the beginning of the project New7Wonders , which concept was rather simple; to beckon the people of the world to vote for the new man-made seven wonders of the world. The campaign was   committed to deepening Global Memory legacy and to help document and conserve global heritage; similar to that of the  UNESCO World Heritage Centre .  TAJ MAHAL, INDIA My love for architecture was first expressed in my earlier article titled  "Nugget & The Cathedrals" , but this structure is so unbelievably magnificent. The crown jewel of India , the world's most iconic tribute to love - the Taj Mahal. The exquisite marble mausoleum was commissioned by Shah Jahan, in 1631 in honour of his wife , Mumtaz Mahal, who died soon after the birth of her fourteenth child (14....children...). She was portrayed to be the perfect wife and companion and the King grieved for two years after her passing. Inspired by  Mughal...

Nugget & The Kaleidoscopic Mountains

Who ever thought mountains can be so pretty. These look more like paintings or something to eat and I'd love to see them one day. ZHANGYE DANXIA LANDFORM, CHINA This amazing land form looks like a layered rainbow cake that's ready to get some icing and be eaten, with some vanilla ice cream, and hot fudge sauce and pecans and...I'm getting carried away. but just look at those colours! This colourful wonder gets it vibrant hues from minerals and primarily made of sandstones and siltstone . T he rainbow mountains were formed over 24 million years ago and some rise to hundreds of meters tall. It's so pretty. Photo credit: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/229754018465068786/ RAINBOW MOUNTAIN, PERU Just like a painting sketched by an amazing artist, the Rainbow Mountains of Peru are striped with colours ranging from turquoise to lavender to burgundy and gold. However, this wonder requires a few days of hiking before one can witness it beauty. Unfortunately, I...

Nugget & The Natural Pools

There are so many amazing natural pools around the world, but these are just a few that caught my attention thus far.  Fairy Pools, Skye Fairy Pools is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Scotland and I can definitely see why. The blue pools are  crystal clear  and so beautiful.  As previously mentioned in  Nugget & The Mountains , I'm not built for hiking. Thankfully for me, to get to the beautiful pools through the River Brittle takes an average  40 - 50 minutes walk  which I can make. I'll just need some company; good company of course, not boring ones to make the trail feel like 5 hours.  The Pools is the most photographed place in Scotland and considered its most magical destination. The  pristine  and unbelievably blue waters makes every thing  visible . Now, the thing with the pools, they are  deceptively inviting.  The may have the colour and appeal of a tropical oasis, but the ...
