Nugget & The Kaleidoscopic Mountains

Who ever thought mountains can be so pretty. These look more like paintings or something to eat and I'd love to see them one day.
ZHANGYE DANXIA LANDFORM, CHINA
This amazing land form looks like a layered rainbow cake that's ready to get some icing and be eaten, with some vanilla ice cream, and hot fudge sauce and pecans and...I'm getting carried away. but just look at those colours! This colourful wonder gets it vibrant hues from minerals and primarily made of sandstones and siltstone. The rainbow mountains were formed over 24 million years ago and some rise to hundreds of meters tall. It's so pretty.

RAINBOW MOUNTAIN, PERU
Just like a painting sketched by an amazing artist, the Rainbow Mountains of Peru are striped with colours ranging from turquoise to lavender to burgundy and gold. However, this wonder requires a few days of hiking before one can witness it beauty. Unfortunately, I've read that the hike is extremely difficult and the trail is in poor condition, which just makes me want to stick to viewing pictures more.

MULTICOLOURED MOUNTAINS OF LANDMANNALAUGAR
Landmannalaugar, firstly, that word...I'm not sure if it's more difficult to spell it or pronounce it, but right now I'm just thankful for copy and paste for that word. Moving on, so this land form is one of Iceland's beauty. The area is a hotspot and has seen a lot of volcanic activity. There are many steam vents which give the mountains a unique appearance, together with the unique shades of the mountains.

PAINTED HILLS, OREGON
A beautiful kaleidoscopic terrain - The Painted Hills of Oregon. Named for the layers of reds, yellows, golds and blacks, the Painted Hills makes up part of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. Unlike the other mountains, the hues of the hills are ever-changing with moisture and light levels, making each visit to them different. During April/May, rivers of small yellow flowers run down within the cracks of the hills forming golden pools.

My favourite has to be the Painted Hills of Oregon because of its dynamism. It makes it seem so "alive" and I'd love to see those golden rivers flowing through the red hues. As all of the mountains are very similar, it may be difficult to pick a favourite but if you can, comment below and share your thoughts!

Nugget & Europe

My top places to visit in Europe - Greece, France, Italy and Switzerland. SANTORINI Before I begin, please watch the video below. There's just something magical about it; the way it captures the beauty of Santorini that makes my words fail. If You're already not in love with Santorini, I guarantee that video will make you. I was hoping to find a video that captures my love for Santorini, and it does it so amazingly; the combination of the music with the scences are beyond perfection . This place has my heart and I've never even been there. Maybe it's Oia with it's cascading whitewashed buildings carved into the cliffs, the hues of sapphire water, the gleaming houses or the phenomenal , yet calming, scenry. It seems like a place your soul can go to rest and one day, I'll get there.   Photo credit: foundtheworld.com THE FRENCH RIVIERA Côte d'Azur , also know as The French Riviera; where do I want to go? Nugget & The Travertine Terraces

The best J acuzzis aren't found in the fanciest hotels or the most exquisite homes, but rather, they were crafted and sustained by nature itself. These hot spring terraces have been around for many years, providing  luxurious baths for all visitors and today, they are top tourist destinations around the world. PAMUKKALE, TURKEY Literally meaning " cotton castle " in Turkish, Pamukkale is located in the Denizli Province of Southwestern Turkey . Its name was derived from the shimmering , snowy-white limestone surface which were shaped into calcium-rich hot springs. These springs are some of the most beautiful and photogenic in the world and judging by pictures, I can see why. There are 17 hot spring travertine terraces in which bathing is permitted; bathing is allowed - my favourite thing about here.  Photo credit: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/419749627760761453/ CLIFFSIDE POOLS, MEXICO The Las Grutas de Tolantongo is a natural spa resort and box canyon ...

Nugget & The Flower Fields

A post for the plant lovers, the landscape lovers, those who just love to appreciate the beauty of nature and most importantly, for the tea lovers. Here are some of the most unbelievably flower fields around the world. LAVENDER FIELDS, UK The British countryside is home to some of the most beautiful lavender fields , just look at those shades of lavender in the pictures below. These fields are maybe the most photogenic ones I've even seen and I'm ever in the UK, I'm definitely visiting and there's lots to choose from. The Lavender farm are usually in full bloom from June to August and my favourite thing bout them is, tourists like myself, are free to walk through and tour the facilities. There's even a nice gift shop that I need to go to because who doesn't love the scent of lavender? Nugget & The Beaches

If I asked you to picture the perfect beach , most of you might paint a scenery of a strip of white soft sand dotted with lush palm trees, crystal clear blue waters with gently rolling waves, all framed by a beautiful landscape. These bucket list beaches offer something a little bit different. PINK SAND BEACH, HARBOUR ISLAND No soft white strip of sand here, but Pink Sand Beach of Harbour Island, Bahamas , is the place to go to for natural beauty of pink sands and calm blue waters which extends for 3 miles . The waters are ideal for swimming and relaxing as the harsh waves are blocked by the surrounding coral reefs . The sand itself consists of broken corals, shells, rocks and calcium carbonate but it's pink colour comes from shell colour of microscopic shelled animals . Although it isn't the only pink beach in the world, it is definitely one of the most beautiful , perfect location for a vacation. Click here for info on more pink beaches . Nugget & Unorthodox Places

I may not exactly want to visit all these places, but their  uniqueness and weirdness deserves them a right to be blogged about by the Travel Nugget. They're definitely places to go to if you're seeking an adventure. GRUNER SEE, AUSTRIA Gruner See or "Green Lake" is a lake found in the village of Styria, Austria. The name originated from the beautiful emerald green colour of the water. However, the pretty colour isn't the main reason why I'm interested in this spot. During the winter, the lake is merely 3 to 7 feet deep and people enjoy the surrounding county park facilities. However, as Spring approaches and the temperature rises, the snow melts away and the water is collected in this emerald basin transforming it into a beautiful version of a snapshot from the 1995 movie, Waterworld. The water level rises to a maximum depth of 39 feet which swallows the park and many scuba divers explore this water-world. Venturing under these waters, the theme song ...
