Nugget & The Flower Fields

A post for the plant lovers, the landscape lovers, those who just love to appreciate the beauty of nature and most importantly, for the tea lovers. Here are some of the most unbelievably flower fields around the world.
LAVENDER FIELDS, UK
The British countryside is home to some of the most beautiful lavender fields, just look at those shades of lavender in the pictures below. These fields are maybe the most photogenic ones I've even seen and I'm ever in the UK, I'm definitely visiting and there's lots to choose from. The Lavender farm are usually in full bloom from June to August and my favourite thing bout them is, tourists like myself, are free to walk through and tour the facilities. There's even a nice gift shop that I need to go to because who doesn't love the scent of lavender?

TULIP FIELDS, NETHERLANDS
Mostly a consensus opinion of the masses, the tulips fields of the Netherlands are the most magnificent flower fields in the world. Part of Holland is actually dedicated to these fields which transforms into a vast sea of flowers from March to May. It's so beautiful, aerial views looks like a huge patchwork quilt that was stitched perfectly. I wish I can walk in between those fields, I don't believe that mere pictures can do justice to the sea of flowers and the explosion of colour. Netherlands is even home to Keukenhof Flower Park, the world's largest flower garden where over 7 million flowers are planted annually.

CANOLA FLOWER FIELDS, CHINA
The county of Louping of Yunnan, China is typically quiet until the blooming of the Canola flowers, transforming the area into a vibrant and spectacular sea of yellow beauty. When the Spring season begins, there's even an annual festival is held in honour of the flowers. The fields spread for approximately 133 million square meters and looks like something you just want to dive straight into. Louping is China's primary producer of Canolas and its harvest is used in  the production of cooking oil and honey products.

MU CANG CHAI RICE TERRACES, VIETNAM
The design of these rice fields are so amazing, it's like a huge maze that you just want to run through and play. These fields are found in Mu Cang Chai, a rural area of Yen Bai Province in Northeast Vietnam. The Rice Terraces are recognized as unique national landscapes which spans across 2,200 hectares on the mountainside. Narrow layers of terraces ranging from 1 to 1.5 meters were shaped to retain water along the slope of the mountains to grow rice. This majestic feature attracts tourists to the underdeveloped province every rainy season from September to October.

LONGJING TEA PLANTATION CHINA
So I am a tea lover and you're either an obsessed tea drinker or not a tea drinker at all. I love it so much, I'd even drink tea when it's all sunny and it's almost always sunny in the Caribbean. Anyway, my point was supposed to be that these fields appeal to me the most because - tea.
Tea drinking is one of China's more cherished and preserved cultural symbols which makes me feel like I belong there, specifically in Hangzhou Longjing Village, where the world's most beautiful and famous tea fields live. Longjing Tea or Dragon Well Tea is a type of green tea which is over 1200 years old and believed to possess healing powers. Interesting fact - the name "Dragon Well" is based on an ancient legend where the village was considered to be blessed by the Chinese Dragon as a clean spring ran continuously through the village.

My favourite to see - the tulip fields because those colours are amazing. My favourite to live in - the tea fields because tea fields... Comment below if you're a tea lover ;) Comment below and share your favourites even if they're not on the list.

Nugget & The Beaches

If I asked you to picture the perfect beach , most of you might paint a scenery of a strip of white soft sand dotted with lush palm trees, crystal clear blue waters with gently rolling waves, all framed by a beautiful landscape. These bucket list beaches offer something a little bit different. PINK SAND BEACH, HARBOUR ISLAND No soft white strip of sand here, but Pink Sand Beach of Harbour Island, Bahamas , is the place to go to for natural beauty of pink sands and calm blue waters which extends for 3 miles . The waters are ideal for swimming and relaxing as the harsh waves are blocked by the surrounding coral reefs . The sand itself consists of broken corals, shells, rocks and calcium carbonate but it's pink colour comes from shell colour of microscopic shelled animals . Although it isn't the only pink beach in the world, it is definitely one of the most beautiful , perfect location for a vacation. Click here for info on more pink beaches . Nugget & The Caves

I never thought that I'd be interested in going into caves. I think batman scarred me growing up and made me think caves are just dark holes, infested with bats but I was so wrong. Here are some of the most amazing caves around the world, each carrying unique features. ICE CAVE, KAMCHATKA Does the pictures of this ice cave below remind anyone else of cotton candy or the passage to a fairytale world ? Yes, I'm sure it does. This magical cave is located in  Kamchatsky, Russia  where the entire landscape is constantly changing due to active  volcanoes  and  glaciers . The location is described as being alive and having  a beating heart .  This  ice jewel  was carved by a volcano-fed river which is sourced from a hot spring from the  Mutnovsky volcano  which flows through the glacier. Its cotton candy  colours  are a result of the  refraction of sunlight t streaming through the ice walls. Photo credit:...

Nugget & The Blue Holes

Looking for an underwater adventure? Blue holes are usually found in shallow coastal areas and the darker the shade of blue, the deeper it goes. The Travel Nugget won't venture into these depths for 2 reasons. Firstly, diving in these places has a prerequisite of logging over 25 dives so an extreme amateur, like the Travel Nugget, can't. Secondly, the mystery of the creatures that lurk in dark, deep waters scare me. GREAT BLUE HOLE, BELIZE The Great Blue Hole of Belize is the most popular blue hole and I have no idea what its appearance reminds me of. It measures over 300 meters across and 124 meters deep. The blue hole rests in the middle of Lighthouse Reef where an island of corals encircles the shallow area, giving it a beautiful turquoise colour. Many visit by boat and aerial tours while the more adventurous opt for skydiving into the waters. I imagine myself screaming at the top of my voice until I touch the water if I ever attempt that one but maybe, just maybe, ...

Nugget & The Mountains

As a child,  when you were taught to draw a mountain, it was always some form of an inverted triangle with a rounded top. Drawing a flat-top mountain or multiple pillars would definitely be considered incorrect in art class. However, these mountains prove otherwise. CAPPADOCIA, ANCIENT REGION OF ANATOLIA Cappadocia is a historical region which lies in the plateau of central Anatolia, Turkey. It's most amazing feature is the unique chimney fairy rocks which were formed by volcanic eruptions and erosion which shaped the pillars. Humans burrowed into these chimneys and made it their own, building underground cities which I’d like to venture into, just for curiosity's sake. Although I’m fascinated by these structures, I don’t want to see them from standing on the ground. I’ve never been hot air ballooning and the thought of floating in the air always seems scary, but with the amazing view of the Cappadocia landscape, I’ll be willing too.   UNESCO World Heritage Site ...
